Excellent daytime bistro on the seafront overlooking Cullercoats Bay.
You can pop in for coffee and cake, a light snack, or a more substantial meal. I've been there twice and had fish on both visits: a beer battered cod (which was huge and very fresh) with traditional fish and peas on my last visit I chose fish pie, which was scrummy! Fish isn't compulsory there's plenty of meat dishes, as well as a good selection of veggie choices.
Don't be put off by the dreary exterior it doubles as a bar after 7pm. -

We had a Sunday lunch here but weren't very impressed. Very long wait, which we would've understood if the place was busier but there seemed to be a lot of staff not doing anything. It definitely didn't seem like homemade Yorkshire pudding as advertised as it was very dry and crispy. No crispy roast potatoes as advertised as they were new potatoes and the mash tasted like shop bought packet. Meat was lovely but overall I wouldn't go back.
